Vee.Finance Integrates WalletConnect
We are excited to announce that Vee.Finance has integrated WalletConnect into our platform!
Users can use their favorite mobile wallets that support the WalletConnect protocol, such as Trust Wallet, imToken, and Coin98, directly to access Vee.Finance on desktop or mobile device’s browser.
The new add-on will provide a better user experience for users, as they are able to use Vee.Finance by just scanning a QR code or choosing a wallet on mobile browsers, no need to install any browser extension. This will serve as a complement to our existing wallet support for Metamask.
What is WalletConnect?
WalletConnect is an open protocol for connecting desktop DApps to mobile Wallets using end-to-end encryption by scanning a QR code. The user can interact with any DApp without comprising their private keys and will be notified to sign any transaction requests on their mobile.
WalletConnect uses a Bridge server to relay the messages without having access to any of its contents. The contents are encrypted using the session data shared by the QR code between the desktop and mobile.
How to add Avalanche Mainnet C Chain to wallets?
Make sure that you have switched the wallet network to Avalanche Mainnet C Chain before connecting to Vee.Finance with WalletConnect. Here are the steps. Note: If you have done this, you can skip this section and view directly how to connect to Vee.Finance with WalletConnect.
imToken
In imToken, head to [Wallet] and Click on the drop-down box with the [Wallet] in the top center. Then select the “Avalanche” on the “Network switch” page.
Coin98
1. In Coin98, click on the [Add Wallet] menu, then find and select the Avalanche C- Chain network and click on the [Create] button. If you have an Avalanche Mainnet C wallet, click the [Restore] button.
2. Follow the prompts on the page, fill in the wallet name, back up the private key and accept the risk warning. Click the [Create Wallet] button when finishing.
MathWallet
1. In MathWallet, click the three-bar menu at the top left corner, and select the Avalanche icon, then click the [Add Wallet] button.
2. Select [Create] or [Import] a wallet. If you select to create a wallet, follow the prompts to set the wallet name and password, back up the mnemonic words until the wallet is created.
Trust Wallet
Trust Wallet is a multi-coin wallet that supports the Avalanche Mainnet C network, you DO NOT need to set it up.
SafePal
In SafePal, click the [Add] button on the wallet page, then add the AVAX token to the Asset list on the coin management page.
TokenPocket
1. In TokenPocket, click the [Wallets] icon in the upper left corner of the [Assets] page, then select the avalanche icon and click the [Add Wallet] button.
2. Select the “Create” or “Import” button. Then follow the instructions on the page to create wallet>set password>backup private key.
BitKeep
In BitKeep, click the [Add Assets] icon on the [Wallet] page, then select the avalanche icon and click the [+] button.
How to connect to Vee.Finance with WalletConnect
The process of using WalletConnect to connect to Vee.Finance is different on mobile and desktop browsers. However, both are simple to do. If you have connecting issues, which occasionally happen, go back to the beginning, and try all the steps again.
Step 1. Click the [Connect Wallet] button if you are using a desktop browser to access Vee.Finance Dapp. You will now see a pop-up presenting different options for connecting your wallet. Click [Wallet Connect] to display a QR code.
Step 2. We will use this QR code to scan with your WalletConnect enabled mobile wallet. In our example, we will connect using imToken.
Step 3. In imToken, head to [Wallet] and then click the scan icon on the top right corner. This selection will bring up your camera for you to then scan the QR code.
Step 4. Once you have scanned the QR code, a pop-up will appear in your wallet. Click [Allow] to give Vee.Finance a request to interact with your wallet, you will be successfully connected.
Step 5. You can also connect to Vee.Finance within your mobile device’s browser. In this case, follow step 2 as per usual. However, instead of seeing a QR code, you will find a list of wallets to choose from. Select your wallet, in our case the imToken option, and you will be back at step 4.
How to find the scan icon in wallet apps?
You can find the scan button in Coin98, Trust Wallet, SafePal, and TokenPocket by following the steps below.
Coin98
In Coin98, head to [tokens] and then click the [WalletConnect] button. This selection will bring up your camera for you to scan the QR code, then tap [Connect] to allow Vee.Finance request to interact with your wallet.
Trust Wallet
In Trust Wallet, head to the [Settings] menu and then click the [WalletConnect] button. This selection will bring up your camera for you to scan the QR code, then click [Connect] to give Vee.Finance permission to interact with your wallet.
MathWallet
In MathWalletl, click on the [More] icon in the upper right corner of the [Assets] page, then click on the scan QR code icon. This selection will bring up your camera for you to scan the QR code, then Click [Confirm] to use your wallet to log in to Vee.Finance.
SafePal
In SafePal, click on the scan icon in the upper right corner of the [Asset] page. This selection will bring up your camera for you to scan the QR code, then click [Connect] to give Vee.Finance permission to interact with your wallet.
TokenPocket
In TokenPocket, head to the [Assets] menu then click on the scan icon in the upper right corner. This selection will bring up your camera for you to scan the QR code, then click [Connect] to give Vee.Finance permission to interact with your wallet.
BitKeep
In BitKeep, head to the [Wallet] menu then click on the scan icon. This selection will bring up your camera for you to scan the QR code, then click [Confirm] to give Vee.Finance permission to interact with your wallet.
